Apart from the PC problems (where APSCALILING is almost mandatory for good performance), the game Remnant 2 from Gunfire Games surpasses its predecessor in everything. Among the players there are complaints about things such as skills, in particular, their limit, which makes it difficult to completely maximize traits, and the cost of regeneration.
In his message on Reddit, the chief designer Ben Kureton explained that although the limit of skills is not something unchanged, it will not disappear (although some adjustments can be made).
When we were just starting testing, it was 50. As more and more players came to the game, we increased this value to 60. Throughout the project, as we added more players to our tests and received even more reviews, the actual values of the skills were adjusted, and in general, 60 turned out to be quite acceptable. Someone wanted more, someone was no against the smaller, but we found that the more equipment was available to the players, the more they found ways to create interesting builds in which skills and equipment could complement each other. This is what we meant. With the introduction of restrictions on skills, we were able to add traits that were not in R1.
In general, the team wants to focus on the variety of builds.
With the introduction of restrictions, we noticed that during testing to this day, people use many other items to supplement their builds. Additional 2 slots for objects go hand in hand with a limitation on line. For example, you can use "The heart of the wolf" for a significant increase in the speed of movement and endurance. You can use Ring of the Robust to increase health and armor. You can add Lithic Signet to reduce damage, or take Wind Hollow Circlet to increase the reload speed, etc.D. That was the goal. In the future, we will not object to adjusting the limit, but the equipment was developed taking into account the presence of restriction. It is not necessary that it be equal to 60, but if it is too high or if it is not, it reduces or almost completely nullifies many items that we have developed to supplement the traits. It would be sad because we added so many new items to the game.
Cureton confirmed that duplicate skills books should give EXP and scrap metal when they collect them. However, for those who are looking for more resources, the team considers "Several possible changes in resources obtained from chests and rare chests, as well as in the amount obtained by duplicates of key fobs to make the study even more useful". With an increase in the number of resources received for the study and collection of duplicates of elements, the players should have more opportunities for experiments". Developers will also consider the possibility of canceling the requirements for the number of skills for double archetypes.
Finally, Keurethon admits that a change in characteristics "too expensive and slightly clumsy". As for the cost, this is a simple change. As for the flexibility of rebuilding, this is another problem. We have several ideas on how to make it more smooth, but so far I do not want to promise anything specific. However, I want the players to know that we all understand and deal with this issue".
All this is in addition to corrections and improvements to the performance that will appear in future updates, so follow the news. Remnant 2 is available for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
